Whether you're the bride, groom, parent, in the bridal party, or just attending a wedding, we are here for the big day! MOBO® Med Spa offers high quality and safe medical aesthetic services where you already go for beauty. It can often be overwhelming on what services to choose to prepare for the big day which is why we have created the following MOBO® Event Timeline recommendations. We also offer free consultations for all of our medical spa services. This allows us to discuss your timeline and your goals of treatment. We’ll start with how you want to look on the event date and work backwards for the optimal timeline.

Botox

First time getting Botox? If it is your first time getting Botox, we recommend getting Botox 5 months before the event and then treated again ideally 4-6 weeks before the event.Botox-loving babe? You already know how much you love Botox and it’s safe to treat you ideally 4-6 weeks before the big day! Plan out.

Filler

Filler is an amazing product that can be strategically placed in different areas of the face for your desired effect…whether it's plumping the lips, adding back volume to the cheeks, filling moderate to severe wrinkles around the nose and mouth, or sculpting the jawline. We offer a variety of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that last 1-2 years. Your MOBO provider is expertly trained on full face assessment to target your unique concerns, desires and budget. We proudly offer the Restylane® and Juvederm® lines. We recommend scheduling your filler appointment a minimum of 2.5 months before your big event up to 4 months before.  Why 2.5 months before? Swelling is not as common with cheek or jawline filler however swelling is common with lip filler. The initial swelling after lip filler may last up to a week however lips continue to settle over the first 4 weeks. We also like to wait a full 2-3 weeks before evaluating for any lip filler touch-ups that may be necessary. Concerned that you might not like the result? No fear - Filler is dissolvable with injectable hyaluronidase in the event of a complication or in the rare event that you are unhappy with it.

Sculptra

Sculptra® Aesthetic is an injectable collagen stimulator containing Poly-L Lactic Acid. It works over time to stimulate your OWN body’s collagen! For those that have lost weight, have sunken cheeks, or simply wish to address volume loss in the face with or without filler, Sculptra is a powerhouse injectable that offers gradual results and lasts more than 2 years. Because it works over time, peak results are seen at 3-6 months or more, and most patients require 2 or more initial treatments 4-8 weeks apart. For that reason, we recommend planning Sculptra 6-8 months before the big day.

Kybella

KYBELLA® is used to treat submental fullness, otherwise known as the double chin, by destroying fat cells, resulting in noticeable reduction of fullness under the chin. Multiple treatments of Kybella may be required for ideal results. We recommend starting Kybella 6 to 8 months prior to a big event.

Microneedling

Microneedling can improve skin tone and texture, reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin laxity, decrease the appearance of acne scars and pigmentation issues, increase collagen production, and improve overall skin health. By increasing the rate of cellular turnover, most people notice a fresh dewy glow to their skin that was absent before. If you are interested in microneedling specifically for acne scars or texture, we often recommend 2 or more microneedling sessions four weeks apart. For this reason, we recommend starting your microneedling journey no later than 3 months before your big day! It is best to start this process 1 year to 6 months before the big event but we understand sometimes life gets in the way.

Chemical Peels

Are you experiencing active acne, hyperpigmentation, sun damage? VI Peel for Face is a prescription chemical peel that delivers a powerful formulation of medications specifically designed to lift pigment, remove sun damage, alleviate acne and scarring, and fight fine lines and wrinkles. This reveals new layers of bright, dewy skin. MOBO peels are safe for all skin types (Fitzpatrick I-VI). This painless, prescription facial peel addresses multiple conditions and will show peeling post treatment with real results. Peeling from a chemical peel can start 1-2 days after treatment, and last up to day 7. For this reason, we recommend getting a peel 1 month prior to any big event; however, you can always get chemical peels prior to that. If you’re interested in a series of chemical peels to aggressively target acne, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage; we offer a package of 3 peels for a discount. Each chemical peel must each be separated by 4 weeks.

Skincare

Whether you are new to skincare or just ready to up your skincare game for wedding season - we have the tips for you! Let’s break it down for morning and night skincare routines. Everyone should be using a gentle cleanser as their first step morning and night. Second step in the morning should be applying a vitamin C serum. Vitamin C serums are full of potent antioxidants that protect your skin against all the oxidative stress from our environment throughout the day. Think of it as morning orange juice for your skin! The next step of your morning skincare routine should be protecting your skin with an SPF. If you use chemical sunscreen, apply it before moisturizer so your skin has time to absorb it. Mineral sunscreen goes on after moisturizer, as it needs to sit on top of your skin to shield it. When choosing facial sunscreen, opt for one with SPF 30 or higher to adequately protect your skin.

At night is when all the skincare magic occurs. In the evening start your skincare routine by washing with a gentle cleanser. We also recommend chemical exfoliants such as AHA/BHAs. If you are a few months away from the big day, consider starting a retinol. Retinols should be eased into a nightly skincare routine with just a pea sized amount every other day. We only recommend starting a retinol if you are at least a few months out because starting a retinol can often make your skin dry and flaky during the first few weeks. If you are closer to the big event, consider using a chemical exfoliant or toner instead.

Your MOBO provider may weave in other topical skincare prescriptions and products to your routine for specific skin conditions. This can include brightening agents for sun spots and melasma, hyaluronic acid based products for fine lines, moisturizers, and calming serums. We recommend bringing your existing skincare products to your skincare consultation appointment, and your provider can work with you to optimize your routine for the biggest impact prior to your big day!
