How long does it last?

Sculptra is the only FDA approved PLLA collagen biostimulator that lasts up to 2 years or more after the last injection.

How many treatments are recommended?

An assessment with your MOBO provider can provide you with a Sculptra treatment plan. 2 to 3 initial treatments are recommended for Sculptra therapy. Treatments are often scheduled 4 to 8 weeks apart. Deep deficits may require more treatment sessions. The volume of Sculptra injected at each session is entirely dependent on the size of the deficit being treated. One vial touch up treatments once per year will help to maintain results as our body continues with natural loss of tissue volume due to the underlying aging process.

What services can I get on the same day as Sculptra?

Botox/Dysport can be injected into the frontalis (forehead) and glabella (11s) on the same day as Sculptra therapy. Cheek filler, lip filler and lip flips can also be injected on the same day as Sculptra therapy on some patients.

Who should not get Sculptra?

Sculptra is not advised for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an excessive keloid scar history, or have an allergy to lidocaine or Sculptra ingredients.

I have a history of cold sores...can I still get Sculptra?

Yes! Be sure to inform your treatment provider if you have a history of cold sores. An anti-viral taken up to 7 days before your treatment is often recommended.

Is there any downtime?

It is normal to have some swelling and bruising following a Sculptra procedure for up to 1-2 weeks.

What do you do for pain?

We do utilize prescription strength numbing, ice, and advanced tools such as cannulas to reduce discomfort and bruising.

What are the risks and side effects of Sculptra?

Potential complications include swelling, bruising and tenderness at the injection site, itching, and occasionally nodules may form. Those on blood thinners or with coagulation defects may be at increased risk of bleeding or hematoma formation. While extremely rare, there is a slight risk of vascular occlusion from Sculptra.
